Henderson - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson for Marilyn P. Guidry, 81, who passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Monday and continue on Tuesday at 7:00 am until 1:30 pm.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm on Monday.
Rev. Garrett Savoie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Shelbi Guidry and Lacy Lasseigne. Gift Bearers will be Kimberly Thibodeaux, Jaylin Guidry, and Landon Guidry.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mrs. Guidry enjoyed dancing, playing cards and poker machines, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Terrell Guidry and wife Lisa of Henderson, Bryon Guidry of Henderson, Percy Guidry, Jr. of Henderson, and Marty Guidry and wife Shawn of Parks; daughter, Sheila Lasseigne and companion Rocky of Henderson; brothers, Octave "Red" Pontiff and wife Helen of Sunset and Gerald Pontiff and wife Donna of Arnaudville; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Agnes Latiolais Pontiff; son, Guy Guidry; brothers, Joe Pontiff, Alvin Pontiff, Herbert Pontiff, and Allen Pontiff.
Pallbearers will be Bryon Guidry, Terrell Guidry, Percy Guidry Jr., Marty Guidry, Cody Guidry, and Jordan Guidry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Octave "Red" Pontiff, Gerald Pontiff, Joshua Guidry, Jacob Guidry, and Briyson Guidry.
