Marion Julia Stokes

New Iberia – A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Marion Julia Stokes, 33, who passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024.

 Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery, in Jeanerette.

The Very Reverend Anne Brown Etheredge will officiate.

 Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Tuesday, from 8:00 am until 11:00 am.

 A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Monday.

 A dual citizen of the United States and France, Marion was born on April 5, 1991, in New Orleans, and was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High School. She enjoyed music, traveling, cooking, and had a tremendous love for animals, especially her kitty, “Mango”. Marion will be deeply missed by so many. 

 Survivors include her parents, Leif and Jayne Stokes; mother, Agnes Cappello; siblings, Josh Pellerin, Caleb Pellerin, and Sammy Stokes; and grandparents, Glenn and Yvonne Stokes.

 Marion was preceded in death by her brother, Julien Marius Stokes; and grandparents, Marius and Therese Cappello.

 Pallbearers will be Sammy Stokes, Josh Pellerin, Caleb Pellerin, Ashton Stokes, Jason Hartweck, and Benjamin Matkin.

 Honorary pallbearers include Andrew Holleman and Roger Green.

 The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at the Calcutta House and Hospice of Acadiana, for their amazing care of our sweet girl.
