Marjorie Faye Phillips Allemond

Cecilia - A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Marjorie Faye Phillips Allemond, 66, who passed away on May 8, 2023 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. 

 A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Monday from 9:00 am until the memorial service at 3:00 pm. Visitation will continue after the memorial service until 7:00 pm. 

 Brother Alcee Phillips will officiate the memorial service.

Marjorie retired from the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office after an honorable career. For thirty years she served with distinction in various positions, including the reserve, sister warden, warden, the elderly program, detective work and meal planning and preparation. She always went above-and-beyond for the people she served and was deeply respected by everyone who knew her.

Marjorie's personality was contagious; she always kept life interesting and everyone on their toes whenever she was around. Her proudest accomplishments were teaching all of her grandchildren how to swim and taking charge during the month of May when it was "her" month with her birthday falling on top of Mother's Day celebrations and her wedding anniversary. 

In addition to her professional achievements and personal milestones, Marjorie also had many hobbies and interests. She loved traveling and camping with her family, drinking coffee while enjoying good conversation with friends and family and playing cards.  Spending holidays with her family gave her great joy as well. 

Marjorie will be forever remembered as a kind soul who kept others laughing with her quick wit and infectious smile. She was someone who touched the lives of everyone she met in a positive way.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Perry Allemond, Sr.; son, Perry James Allemond, Jr. (Jennifer); daughter, Amanda Duplechien (Jody); brothers, Alcee Phillips (Theresa) and James Grady Phillips, Jr.; sister-in-law, Meredith Phillips; grandchildren, Braylon Broussard, Holden Allemond, Harlie Allemond, Johl Duplechien, Kaden Allemond and Ava Allemond; and great-grandchild, Evee Guidry.

She is preceded in death by her son, Jamey James Allemond; parents, James Phillips, Sr. and Mildred Fugler Phillips; and brother, John Brady Phillips.
