Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Marjorie Mary Francis John, 86, who passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Post-Acute Medical Specialty Hospital of Lafayette.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:30 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 10:00 am. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Friday.
Rev. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Mass. Scriptures will be read by Nicole Marie Freeman and Shirley Thibodeaux. Gift bearers will be Paige Roberts and Casey John. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
Marjorie was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and Parish Council at St. Francis of Assisi and a member of the Crustacean Association. She was a fun and loving person. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing Bingo with her friends, and traveling with her children. She loved spending time with her family, children, and grandchildren. Marjorie enjoyed praying the rosary and helping others. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sons, Michael John and wife, Betty, and Bobby John, all of Breaux Bridge; her daughters, Mary Ann Anthony and husband, Larry, of Breaux Bridge, and Marsha Joseph and husband, Christopher, of Missouri City, TX; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Verna Mae Celestine; and her brother, Harry Francis.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tarlton "Short" John; her parents, Adolph and Elydia Thomas Francis; four sisters, Sister Elydia Marie Francis, Theresa Fontenette, Isabelle Polite, and Mary Helen Dove; and her brother, Horace Francis.
Pallbearers will be Michael Emmanuel John, Oscar Levall Hughes III, Donovan Jude Francis, Frank Robert, Wilbert Demouchet, and Harold Francis.
