St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Martez "Tez" Doucet, 23, who passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021, at his residence.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until the time of Mass on Friday.A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am on Friday.Rev. Abelardo Gabriel SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. He is survived by his wife, Melvina Doucet; son, Jayden Armon Doucet; father, McKinley Doucet; mother, Lakeesha Gedward; sister, Q'uianna Gedward; brothers, Makaveli Doucet and Caleb Doucet; maternal grandmother, Eunita Gedward; paternal grandmother, Shirley Faulk; paternal grandfather, Michael Lewis; and parents-in-law, Vickie and Melvin Joseph.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Carrol Faulk; maternal grandfather, Ricky Batiste; maternal great-grandparents, Anna Mae and Robert Gedward and Wilfred and Nancy Batiste; paternal great-grandmothers, Fabiola Lewis and Alberta Doucet.
