New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, September 18, 2008, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Mary Ann Andrus, 74, who passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 in New Iberia. Entombment will follow at Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum. Msgr. Jace Eskind will be the Celebrant. Readers will be Donna Comeaux and David Brady. Gift Bearers include Sharon Wisterman, Susan Andrus, Karlie Dartez, Sarah Wisterman, and Hannah Wisterman. Born on September 29, 1933 in Church Point, Mrs. Andrus is a former school teacher and a former district manager for World Book Encyclopedia. She was very active in her church and in the cursillo. Mrs. Andrus was a 13 year cancer survivor. Survivors include her husband, Karl Andrus of New Iberia; daughters, Susan Andrus of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Donna Comeaux of New Iberia, Sharon Wisterman and husband Joey of Houston; son-in-law, David Brady; brothers, Patrick McBride and wife Judy of Atlanta, Georgia, Kenneth McBride of New Orleans; sisters, Frances Fontenot of Church Point, Jackie Vautrot and husband Mills of Sunset, Anna Joyce Stutes of Lafayette; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Josi Brady; parents, George Jack and Lillian Richard McBride; brothers, John Dennis McBride, Dickie McBride and a sister, Delores Gamble. Pallbearers include David Brady, Matthew Brady, Tyler Brady, Sean Comeaux, Joshua Dartez, Patrick McBride, and Kenneth McBride. Honorary pallbearers include Josh Gentry and Dr. George Cousin. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MDA?s ALS Division, 301 E. Kaliste Saloom, Suite 101, Lafayette, LA. 70508. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Wednesday.
