Mary Ann "Mi" Bernis

St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 02, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville for Mary Ann "Mi" Bernis, 92, who passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023, in Lafayette.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Friday, June 2^nd, from 9:00 am until the time of service at 10:30 am.

Father Ed Degeyter will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.

Mary Ann was a native of Parks and resided in Lafayette. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette. Mary Ann worked at Teche Automotive Supply in St. Martinville, and she also worked for L.A. Frey, Frank C. Rogers, and Patrick McCarthy in Lafayette.

Mary was a member of many organizations including, Children of Mary, the American Legion Auxiliary, Bon Moir Society, American Business Women's Association, Northside Red Hats, and Seton Pearls.

She is survived by her nieces, Vern Nunez of Vidor, TX, Cindy LeBlanc of Beaumont, TX and Jamie Ann Bernis of Florida; nephew, Dale LeBlanc of Lafayette and Dane Bernis of Florida; and her great-nieces and nephews, Kerry Strahan, Kristi Rayon, Thad Nunez, Todd Nunez, Eddie LeBlanc, IV and Kale LeBlanc.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Emile Bernis; mother, Clemence Savoy Bernis; brother, James Bernis; sister, Lillie B. LeBlanc; and her beloved aunt, Alice Degeyter.
