Mary Dell was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church and a member of the Expression Choir for over 50 years. During those years, she became the organist for the choir. She was also a member of St. Paul Benevolent Society, Parks Community Support Service, and the Women of Excellence.
Mary Dell loved playing the piano and believed that music created a happy place for your mind and soul to escape during moments of meditation. Not only did Mary Dell's music touch people, but so did her charitable work that spread throughout the floors of UMC, where she worked as a Registered Nurse, Pediatric Unit Supervisor, and Medical Surgical Unit Supervisor. Mary Dell was even referred to as the town's family nurse. She never once hesitated to care for or make a house-call for anyone who was sick. She will forever be remembered for her God-given talent that she so willingly and selflessly gave to her church and community, her kindness, her genuine smile, and her ability to assist the sick during their time of need.
She is survived by her loving spouse, Earl "Stretch" Berard of Parks; daughter, Megan Rachelle Berard of New Orleans; brother, Joseph Harold Narcisse of Parks; sisters, Earline James and husband Jessie of St. Martinville and Elizabeth Dauphine and husband Lewis of Parks; and her Godchildren, Shane Narcisse of Parks and Dana James Maxie of Denham Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Livingston and Mildred Solari Narcisse.
Pallbearers will be Lou Terence Dauphine, Howard Ledet, Stephen Maxie, Shane Narcisse, Lance Nora, and Ronald Solarie.
