Mary Etienne Bourda

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2005, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Mary Etienne Bourda, 86, who died Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at Iberia General Medical Center in New Iberia. Entombment will be in St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. Survivors include her husband, George Bourda of St. Martinville; her sons, Lindsay Bourda and his wife, Dolores of St. Martinville, George Bourda, II, and his wife, Carolyn of New Orleans, Leward Bourda and his wife, Hilda of Houston, TX, Christopher Bourda and his wife, Jacqueline of St. Martinville, and Sandy Bourda and his wife, Kathy of St. Martinville; her daughters, Ella Mae Alexander and her husband, Lawrence of St. Martinville, Marie Decuir and her husband, Wonest of Cade, and Gretta Pierre and her husband, John of Houma; her brother, Thomas Etienne of Galveston, TX; her sister, Veronica Rochon of Lafayette; twenty-seven grandchildren and thirty-seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Ema Singleton Etienne; her brothers, Freddie and Antoine Etienne; and her sister, Lydia Cola. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 a.m. on Monday and continue until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Monday morning. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
