New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Mary Nell Miguez Comeaux, 73, who died Saturday, June 15, 2013, in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Rev. Mark Derise will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Monday. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 9:30 AM until 1:30 PM. A native of Delcambre, and resident of New Iberia, Mary Nell went to the arms of her heavenly father on June 15, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her children and family. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. Her children were the most important beings in her life. Her most cherished moments were the times she spent with them. She was a very compassionate, loving person and will leave behind many wonderful memories that will be cherished by all who knew her. She had abundant hobbies; to name a few, she enjoyed reading, walking, going to the casino, playing cards, dancing, traveling (especially cruises), fishing and generally being outdoors on a beach somewhere. She began her insurance career in 1957, and continued until her time of death, currently being employed by the Regions Insurance, Inc. Ms. Comeaux is survived by her daughter, Liz LeBlanc Toups and husband, Eddie Toups of New Iberia; two sons Barry LeBlanc, Michael LeBlanc and partner Mark Wright, all of Lafayette; two granddaughters, Summer Toups LeBlanc and husband Lance LeBlanc, and Nicole Toups; one step granddaughter, Kristi Comeaux Wimberley, two great grandsons, Blake Broussard and Maverick Broussard; and one great granddaughter Jerzi Toups; and one sister, Gertie Broussard of Delcambre. She is also survived by her first husband, Harold LeBlanc, and several nieces and nephews and her good friend, Jimmy Langlinais. Ms. Comeaux was preceded in death by her father Gordy Miguez, her mother, Lela (Mim) DeRouen Miguez; her brother Donald Miguez and her 2nd husband, Perry Comeaux. Serving as pallbearers will be Barry LeBlanc, Michael LeBlanc, Mark Wright, Eddie Toups, Steve Broussard and Clay Broussard. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Southern Care for their hospice service during her time of need. They would also like to thank the Regions Insurance family for their prayers, care, support & concerns.
