St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 25, 2018, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Mary Jenny Davis, 72, who passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Friday.
Rev. Darrell Kelly, SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Mrs. Davis was a loyal housewife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family. She enjoyed going eat out with her children, talking on the phone with her brothers, doing puzzles, and watching the soaps. Mrs. Davis cherished moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy "James" Davis of St. Martinville; daughter, Jeana Davis and husband Truman Volter of St. Martinville; sons, Jonathan Davis and fiance' Cheryl Boutte, and Joshua Davis and wife Dominic, all of St. Martinville; brothers, Clarence Stewart and wife Melvina, and Wilfred Stewart, all of St. Martinville; grandchildren, Jonaia Brown, Jlaya Ledet, Jacolby Evans, Jraya Davis, Jade Davis, and Joshua Davis, Jr.; and godchildren, Walton Stewart, Jr. and Thaddeaus Malveaux.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alcide and Agnes Ledet Stewart; sister, Cecilia Malveaux; brothers, Walton Stewart, Sr. Nelson Stewart, and Ernest Stewart; aunts, Mazel Wiltz, Rena Thibodeaux, Gertie Mae Robertson, Beatrice Mason, and Fabiola Wiltz; uncles, Wesley Wiltz, Joseph Wiltz, and Wallace Wiltz; and sister-in- law, Agnes Stewart.
Pallbearers will be Deion Malveaux, Jonathan Alexander, Nelson Stewart, Joshua Davis, Curtis Robertson, and Truman Volter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tyranneus Malveaux, Jonathan Davis, Thaddeus Malveaux, Wilbert Stewart, Raymond Stewart, Wilson Stewart, and "Buckstee" Stewart.
