Mary Elaine Fontenette Green

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Mary Elaine Fontenette Green, 65, who passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in St. Martinville from 7:00 am until 9:30 am on Saturday. Rev. Cyriaque Sounou SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Saturday. Mary was born September 21, 1955. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mary enjoyed shopping, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband, Earl Green, Sr.; two sons, Earl Green, Jr. and Brian Keith (Lecreshia) Green; two daughters, Rashada Green (Dedrien Francois) and Stella Green; brothers, Floyd (Patricia) Fontenette and Paul (Mary) Fontenette; sisters, Margaret Fontenette and Prenella Fontenette (Michael Kately); five grandchildren, Zarek Smith, Tyran Green, Debreana Green, Jamiah Green and Kaiden Curtis; godchildren, Floydell Coleman, Kevin John Louis and Leonard Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Alberta Davis Fontenette; sisters, Theresa Hill, Shirley Fontenette, Emma Fontenette, Gloria Porter and Rose Porter; and brothers, Merlin Fontenette, Lloyd Peter Fontenette, Roy Fontenette and James Perry Fontenette. Pallbearers will be Earl Green Jr., Leonard Hill, Dedrien Francois, Francis Knatt, Elston Hill and Deuce Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Keith Green, Floyd Fontenette, Paul Fontenette and Alvin Jones. Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
