Mary Garon Ethridge

New Iberia - Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia for Mary Garon Ethridge, 67, who passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019, in New Iberia. Rev. Korey LaVergne will be the officiant. A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia on Tuesday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A longtime resident of New Iberia, Mary Garon Ethridge was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 16, 1951. She was a 1968 graduate of Mt. Carmel Academy, and then obtained her Bachelor's degree from Nichols State University. She taught school briefly in Iberia Parish before working as a Social Worker for the Louisiana Department of Social Services, where she retired. Mary was an avid Saints and LSU football fan. She was a wonderful person, and will be deeply missed. Mary is survived by her longtime friend, Gerald Hebert of New Iberia, and her precious pet, Oliver. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis L. Garon, Sr.; mother, Nettie Allain Garon; and a brother, Francis "Roy" L. Garon, Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to Angel Paws, P.O.
