Mary Marcelite Folse

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Mary Marcelite Folse, 73, who died Saturday, October 22, 2005 at River Region Hospice in River Ridge, LA, after a long battle with cancer. Interment will be in Fournet Family Cemetery in St. Martinville. This beautiful Southern Belle was born in Buris, Louisiana and lived in Ponchatoula to be close to loved ones. Before her illness she played an active role in hosting reunions for WWII LST survivors. Survivors include her significant other, Freeman Ballard of Metairie; her son, Chuck Tamburo of New Orleans; her daughters, Patty Tamburo Mullins of Springfield, LA and Sherry Tamburo of Norwich, CT; her brothers, Paul Pittman of Lake Charles and Kirk Pittman of St. Francisville; her sister, Elizabeth Patrick of Alvin, TX; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Dominique Tamburo, Ara Forrest, Amber Gainey, and Kyle Mullins; and four great grandchildren, Cody, Katelyn and Benjamin Gainey and Trevor Forrest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Folse; her parents, Carl and Velma Fournet Pittman; her brother, Carl Pittman; and her sister, Johny Bufkin. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday and continue until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to finding a cure for ovarian cancer through the American Cancer Society. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
