Mary Alice Polite Fontenette

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2005, at Union Baptist Church in St. Martinville for Mary Alice Polite Fontenette, 63, who died Sunday, October 16, 2005 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will be in Union Baptist Cemetery in St. Martinville. Survivors include her son, Floyd Fontenette, Jr. of St. Martinville; her daughters, Mrs. Darryl ""Merry"" Paulfrey, Jr. of Illinois and Miriam Fontenette of Georgia; her brother, John ""Butch"" Polite of St. Martinville; her sisters, Mrs. Francis ""Joyce"" Ebow, Jr. of Parks, Mrs. Sherry ""Shirley"" Skipper of St. Martinville, and Gloria Polite Gardner of Overland Park, KS; her half-sister, Marlene Polite of Baton Rouge; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Fontenette, Sr.; her parents, Muller and Florita Chambers Polite; and two brothers, Louis Calvin Polite and James Allen Polite. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at Union Baptist Church and continue until time of service.
