Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service was held at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 20, 2020, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Mary Granger Franks, 78, who passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020, at St. Joseph Hospice.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm on Sunday and continue on Monday at 9:00 am until 1:45 pm.
Her grandson, Gavin Faul, officiated at the Funeral Service. Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed spiritual reading and meditating, watching TV, and spending time with the people she loved the most, her family. Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, George R. Franks, Jr.; sons, Terry Franks, Jerry Franks, Sr., (Nnenna), and Lee Franks (Janet); daughters, Tonia Franks Thibodeaux and Sonia Franks; brothers, Junius Granger, Jr., Gene Granger (Sissy), and Olan Granger (Sheryl); sisters, Helen Granger Collier (Ronnie), Necia Prosper (Merlin), and Barbara Granger; 24 grandchildren; and 35 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Franks; parents, Junius Sr. and Eunice Copp Granger; sister, Liz Lancon; niece, Lisa Maturin; and her in-laws, George R. and Mary Frances Franks, Sr.
Pallbearers were Terry Franks, Steven Brasseaux, Jr., George Franks, III, Junius Granger, Jr., Jerry Franks, Jr., and Olan Granger.
Honorary pallbearers were her daughters, Tonia Franks Thibodeaux and Sonia Franks.
