Mary Ella Guillory

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Mary Ella Guillory, 82, who passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Rev. Justin Arockiasamy, Associate Pastor of Notre Dame Church, will conduct the services. Gift Bearers will be Farrah Tyler, Rolanda Fontenette, Tracy Louis and LaTrisha Simpson. Mary enjoyed going to church, sewing, cooking and planting flowers. She loved family gatherings and preparing meals for special occasions. She was a dedicated worker at Martin Mills, never missing a day of work. Mary will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her cakes, especially coconut cakes. Survivors include her husband, Ruben Paul Guillory of St. Martinville; her sons, Ruben John Guillory (Jeanette) of Port Arthur, TX and Alvin Dale Guillory (Angella) of St. Martinville; her daughters, Zana Guillory Fontenette, Cynthia Guillory Curley, and Gwendolyn G. Louis (Ronald) all of St. Martinville; her brother, Mitchell Francis (Viola) of St. Martinville; her sisters, Gertie Mae Landry (Camille) and Esther Rena James, all of St. Martinville; her grandchildren, Kevin Fontenette, Rolanda Fontenette, Jarvis Fontenette, Farrah Tyler, Adrien Guillory, Troy Louis, Tyrone Louis, Jonas Guillory, Zachary Guillory, LaTrisha Simpson, Tracy Louis and Donrick Marks, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alexandria Turpeau Francis; her brothers, Adam, Joseph and Benjamin Francis, Sr.; her sisters, Viola Francis Dauphine, Bernice Glover and Margurite Daigre; and her son-in-law Dennis Curley. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2009. A rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
