New Iberia Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Mary Ann Broussard Jolivette departed this life, surrounded by family, to join her Lord and Savior on October 14, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimers Disease.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
Rev. Bill Melancon will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 8:30 am until 1:30 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am Wednesday.
A lifelong native of New Iberia, Mary Ann was born on July 21, 1938 to the late Lawrence and Fanny Edgar Broussard.
Forever remembered as Iberia Parishs crowned Queen Brown Sugar and Top Sales Woman at Anthonys Clothing Stores, Mary Ann truly loved to bless those around her and never met a stranger. Throughout her life, Mary Ann was dedicated and actively involved in the Catholic Church, and had worked as a secretary at St. Edwards Catholic Church. From sharing her delicious baked creations, especially her pecan candy, to spending time with her family, Mary Ann did all things with a selfless love and desire to leave those happier than she met them.
She will be truly missed by her husband of 58 years, Arthur Jolivette; her children, Kim Richard and husband M. Larry, Jackie Jolivette, and David Jolivette and wife Laura all of New Iberia; her grandchildren Tyler Richard, Hilary Raggette, Morgan Richard Olivier and husband Rusty, Trevor Jolivette, Holden Raggette, Tristian Jolivette, and Taylon Jolivette; great grandchildren, Aiden Olivier and Kash Raggette.
She is survived by her siblings Yvonne Bourda of Loreauville, Norman Broussard of Jeanerette, Sylvina Patin and husband Eric of Baton Rouge, Lawrence Butch Broussard Sr. and wife Faye of New Iberia, Robert Cholo Broussard and wife Mildred of New Iberia, Patricia Tenette and husband Kendell of New Iberia, James Nuppy Broussard and wife Monica of Huntington Beach, CA, and Fannie Shot Pellerin of New Iberia.
Pallbearers include M. Larry Richard, David Jolivette, Trevor Jolivette, Tyler Richard, Rusty Olivier, and Vance Jolivette.
