New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, September 6, 2008, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Mary Jane D. Landry, 78, who passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 in Winnfield, LA.Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Mausoleum.
Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant. Readers will be Kelsey Viator and Carley Landry. Gift Bearers include Dawn Alleman and Craig Landry.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Ms. Landry was born on March 18, 1930, and is retired from the Iberia Parish School Board with over 30 years of service. She enjoyed sewing and most of all spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Harry G. Landry, Jr. and wife Barbara of New Iberia; brothers, C.D. Delahoussaye of Carencro, Wilton Delahoussaye of New Iberia; grandchildren, Dawn Alleman and husband Tony of New Iberia, Craig Landry and wife Dawn of New Iberia; great grandchildren, Carley Landry, Kourtlyn Landry, Brodey Landry, and Emmi Alleman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clesma and Alicia Gary Delahoussaye; sisters, Mrs. Roy (Ducretia) Rogers, Mrs. Ralph (Dorothy) Schaubert, Sr., Mrs. Arthur (Rosie) Romero; step sister, Duclacia "Chun" Dore; step brothers, Delais Delahoussaye, Ignace "Kellogg" Delahoussaye, and Edles Delahoussaye.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Johnny Romero, Ralph Schaubert, Jr., James Schaubert, Kenneth Delahoussaye, Tony Alleman, and Craig Landry.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 2:30 PM until 10:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM.
