Mary Ann was born in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana on June 8, 1950. In her early years, she had a love for horses and quickly became an accomplished rider and barrel racer with her trusted horse, Pasque!
Mary Ann would eventually go on to follow her true calling in life as a caregiver and advocate for the elderly and infirmed. Her compassion for the weak and disabled, allowed her to be a voice for so many of those who couldn't be that for themselves.
Feisty and outspoken in nature, Mary Ann was a true firecracker who never shied away from tough situations! She had a fighting spirit and tackled everything in life with resilience and determination; something her family will miss most of all.
Mary Ann, affectionately known as "MawMaw,"was a devoted grandmother, who loved her grandchildren fiercely. Weekly dinners and random trips for sundaes or snowballs with her grandkids were some of her favorite moments. In the evenings, you could usually find her conversing over a pot of coffee with lifelong friends, or just sitting back and enjoying an old western!
She will be deeply missed by all those so fortunate enough to know her. May her fighting spirit live on in everyone who loved her!
She is survived by sons, Blake Thibodeaux (Amy), Dirk Thibodeaux (Kelly), Ty LeBlanc (Sherry), and Clint LeBlanc (Beth); daughter, Angela Racca (Shane); grandchildren, Kane Racca, Amelia Racca, Karley Thibodeaux, Kolt Thibodeaux, Trey LeBlanc, Bryce LeBlanc, Olivia Broussard (Ruston), Daniel Kester (Heather), Danielle Sherry (Ryan), and Lane David; great grandchildren, Mia, Penelope, Dean, and Conner; brothers, Russell Champagne (Tammy) and Dennis Champagne (Angela); sister, Laura Mills (Buddy); and her life-long friends, Charlene and Terry Courville and Joselyn Marks.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John "King" LeBlanc; father, James Champagne, Sr.; mother, Yolande Thibodeaux Champagne; brother, James Champagne, Jr.; and sister, Linda Marie Aquinaldo.
Pallbearers will be Blake Thibodeaux, Dirk Thibodeaux, Ty LeBlanc, Russell Champagne, Dennis Champagne, and Shane Racca.
