Mary Leona Kately Jones

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Mary Leona Kately Jones, 74, who passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 AM on Saturday. 

Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery. 

Mary was born on September 21, 1949, in St. Martinville to Herman Kately, Sr. and Mildred Charles Kately. She graduated from Adam Carlson High School then obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Southern University.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her husband, W. Michael Boyd; her son, Ihmaru Jones (Karen); daughters, Kenya Goodie (Jared) and Michelle Boyd (A.T.); stepdaughter, Tonya Boyd (Wayne); brothers, Ronald Kately, Raphael Kately, and Herman Mouton; sisters, Shirley Kately and Dorothy Pierre (Joseph); grandchildren, Kourtney, Tyler, Canaan, Kohen, Kennady, Kandren, Amari, Jared II, Jarden, Kristian and Dimi; great-grandchildren, Kali and Kairo; Godchildren, Tammy Perry, Bridgette Landry and James Gray; one aunt, Christine Jackson; and a host of cousins, family, and friends.

Mary Leona was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Mildred; her brother, Herman Kately, Jr.; nephew, Herman Kately, III; grandparents; aunts, uncles, and relatives.

Pallbearers will be Ihmaru Jones, Canaan Leon, Kohen Boyd, Jared Goodie, II, Kandren Batiste, and Jarden Goodie.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronald Kately, Raphael Kately, Jared Goodie I, Kourtney Peters, Kennady Ledet, Herman Mouton, Kristian Batiste, Kevin Kately, Albert Williams, and James Gray.
