Mary Lovinia Colomb Charles

Leonville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, March 11, 2022, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville for Mary Lovinia Colomb Charles, 88, who passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Arnaudville from 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Friday.

A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am on Friday by Women For The Salvation of Christ. 

Rev. Darren Eldridge will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Leo the Great Cemetery in Leonville.

Lovinia enjoyed sewing, baking, and gardening with flowers and vegetables. She was a devoted homemaker that provided for her family. Lovinia will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara A. Charles and Patricia Noel; sons, Gerald Charles (Ann), Floyd Charles (Leanna) and Jimmie Charles Sr. (Jeanette); sisters, Eva Anthony and Beradine Aggison; brother, Howard Charles (Jollie); 13 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great grandchildren; and 5 great-great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Onezime Charles, Jr.; son, Roland Charles; grandson, Garrett James Noel, Sr.; son-in-law, Joseph L. Noel, Jr.; mother, Eva Taylor; and brothers, Raymond Taylor, Charles Taylor, Lawrence Jackson, Edwin Charles and Carroll Taylor; and her  sisters, Joyce Levier and Berrell Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Landis Noel, III, Joseph Landis Noel, IV, Joseph McGarrett Noel, Sr., Corey Lee Charles, Joseph Jimmie Charles, Jr., and Nicholas Paul Charles.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Charles, Floyd Charles, Howard Charles, Joseph Jimmie Charles, Sr., Cameron Charles, Joseph McGarrett Noel, Jr., Jordan Tyler Noel and Joseph Adam Collins, Jr.
