St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am, on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks, for Mary Margaret "Dolly" Dupree, 91, who passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Rev. Nicholas Dupre' will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, Louisiana.
Mary was a schoolteacher and librarian for many years, and also was a proud restaurant owner with her husband. Mary was a member of the Council on Aging and during her free time she enjoyed gardening, baking, and cooking for her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Julius Warren Dupree of St. Martinville; daughters, Elizabeth "Renee" (Percy) Granger in St. Martinville, Diane "Dee" D. (Wayne) Green of Dallas, TX, and Laura D. (Steve) Bray of Houston, TX; sons, Thomas Warren (Linda) Dupree of Lafayette, John Allen (Rhea) Dupree of Port Angeles, Washington, Jay Patrick (companion, Elizabeth Long) Dupree of Denver, CO, and Michael George (Katie) Dupree of Snow Camp, NC, grandchildren, Jessica Dupree Kettler, Jacquelyn Dupree Esteves, Ervin Willis, Jr., Jeremey Steven Bray, Jennifer Bray Adler, Carmen Dupree Hightower, Camille Patrice Dupree, James Michael Dupree, Brandon Louis Granger, Mandy Elizabeth Granger, and Megan Renee Granger; 21 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Boortes Peterson and Mary Ida Caillouet Peterson; and her sister, Irma Francis Peterson Delaune.
Pallbearers will be Ervin Willis, Jr, Derek Trace Willis, Ervin Willis III, Jeremy Bray, Brandon Granger, and PL Granger.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mrs. Dupree's memory to the Diocese of Lafayette Office of Vocation and Masses in her honor.
