VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Mary Cartimiglia Polk, 93 who died Saturday, April 10, 2010 in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Mark Derise will be the Celebrant. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Polk was a retired teacher, having taught for over 28 years in Iberia Parish. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. Survivors include son, Ivan Polk and wife Phyllis of New Iberia; brother, Samuel Cartimiglia and wife Barbara of New Iberia; sister, Angie Ariola of New Iberia; grandsons, Gerald Jones Polk, Robert Polk and wife April; great grandchildren, Emily Alexis Polk, Skyler Grace Polk; godchild, Gail Broussard Ackal of New Iberia; sister-in-law, Joyce Cartimiglia of New Iberia; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jones Red Polk; a son, Daniel Danny Polk; parents, Sam and Angelina Picarraro Cartimiglia; brother, Louis Cartimiglia; sisters, Josie Broussard, Bessie Williams. Pallbearers will be Sammy Ariola, David Broussard, Phil Cartimiglia, Sammy Cartimiglia, Dale Cartimiglia, Dane Cartimiglia, and Kyle Cartimiglia. Honorary pallbearers include Gerald Polk and Robert. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 3:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Monday.
