Mary H. Robin, a vibrant 87-year-old, peacefully passed away on February 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 18, 1937, in Breaux Bridge, she devoted her life to creating a nurturing home for her husband of 54 years, their children and grandchildren.
As the youngest sibling, Mary learned early on the importance of kindness and empathy while caring for her mother and brother, John. Her greatest joy came from family gatherings, where her legendary homemade tarts filled the air with delightful aromas, bringing everyone together for unforgettable meals and celebrations.
Mary's nurturing spirit also shone in her beautiful garden, as well as in her love for outdoor adventures, fishing, camping and traveling. Most notably, she enjoyed trips to the casino with our aunt and uncle. She loved sewing; she sewed clothes for her daughters and taught many how to sew. One of her many enjoyments was gatherings with family and friends at the outdoor kitchen. She balanced her zest for life with a commitment to maintaining a tidy home, teaching her children the value of organization and hard work.
After her children grew up, she found her independence by embracing opportunities outside the home.
Her legacy of love, dedication and family celebration included her active role in the Altar Society at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she attended weekly Mass and contributed to the parish's upkeep.
She is survived by her sons, Mickey "Meko" Robin (Carla) and Neil Robin (Kari); daughters, Paula Serrett and Arlene Ramphrey (George); grandchildren, Beau Robin, Alex Trahan, Felicie Delahoussaye, Eleanor "Elle" Berkenmeier, Zachary Ramphrey, Derek Robin, Ross Robin and Michael Robin; and 9 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Russell Joseph Robin; parents, Elinore and Aurline Berard Huval, Sr.; brothers, Russey Huval, Reeves Huval, Elinor Huval, Jr., John Huval and Hansel Huval; and her sisters, Laura Goulas and Delta Dauphine.
Pallbearers will be Neil Robin, Derek Robin, Ross Robin, Beau Robin, Wilson Robin and George Ramphrey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Meko Robin, Michael Robin and Zachary Ramphrey.
The family would like to extend out a special thanks the the CNA's, nurses and staff of St. Joseph Hospice and at the Cornerstone on the Ranch Nursing Home who loved Mary.
