Mary Sandridge Babineaux

New Iberia – A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 pm, on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, for Mary Sandridge Babineaux, 80, who passed away peacefully at her residence.

 Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.

 Rev. Garrett Savoie will be the Celebrant.

 Visitation will be Friday, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 11:00 am.

 A resident of New Iberia, Ms. Mary was born on April 22, 1944, in Abbeville, to the late William “Bill” and Evelyn Babineaux Sandridge. She was a 1962 graduate of New Iberia Senior High and was also a graduate of USL, now University of Louisiana Lafayette (ULL). Ms. Mary worked as a schoolteacher at Coteau Elementary and was a salesperson at McMahon Musson. She retired from the Home Health Industry.

 Survivors include her son, Charles “Andy” Babineaux (Jill Lasseigne); grandchildren, Coty Michael Romero (Priscilla), MacKenzi Lee Babineaux, Rylee Elizabeth Babineaux, and Destyn Melancon; great grandchildren, Chloe, Cohen, Camden, and Colin; brother, Russell Sandridge (Therese Maraist), sister, Shirley Mercer (John); sister-in-law, Kathy Sandridge (Jerry Walker); nieces, Katherine Burke (Michael), Michelle Hebert, and Simone Babineaux; nephews, Russell Jude Sandridge, Derrick Sandridge (Jeanne), Robert Babineaux (Vicki), and Dalton “Kippy” Babineaux, III (Renee Michel); several great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Donald Louis Babineaux; a son, William “Will” Babineaux; nephew, Gerald McClure; nieces, Renee Babineaux O’Brien and Nicole Babineaux.
