St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, August 2, 2019, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Mary Louise Talley, 97, who passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at St. Martin Hospital.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday and continue on Friday at 8:00 am until 9:30 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Thursday.
Rev. Rusty P. Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Lori Johnson and Brooke Segura. Gift Bearers will be Lauren Johnson, Haylee Johnson, and Kamryn Boudreaux.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Mary was a parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church and was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters. She worked as a beautician for many years. Mary also did some retail sales, worked at Martin Mills, ran a small gift shop, and also baked cakes for any occasion. As a pastime time, she loved going to the casino and playing Bingo and Pokeno. Mary always looked forward to having family gatherings, no matter the occasion, where she would prepare meals for everyone to enjoy. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness, generous heart, and her genuine love and care for people.
She is survived by her sons, Steve Talley and wife Missy of Cove, AR, Lawrence Talley, Jr. and wife Nancy of Lafayette, and Terry Talley and wife Arlette of St. Martinville; daughters, Sandra Lasseigne and husband Tony of Parks, Barbara Talley of St. Martinville, Aimee Landry of Aurora, CO, and Michele Bourque and husband Patrick of Parks; grandchildren, Angel Bosnak, Misty Talley, Hayden Talley, Jacob Talley, Toni Freeman, Brooke Segura, Shawn Talley, Matthew Talley, Lori Johnson, Dennis Landry, Jr., Dusty Guillaumin, and Peter Bourque; 13 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell and Aimee Romero Dutile; husband, Lawrence Talley, Sr.; brothers, Lawrence Dutile, Deserie Dutile, Clarence Dutile, Morris Dutile, and Anson Dutile; and her sisters, Nedia Landry and Nelies Fontenot.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Landry Jr., Matthew Talley, Shawn Talley, Peter Bourque, Daniel Freeman, and Coby Johnson.
