Mary Thibodeaux

February 10, 1944 — September 23, 2010

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11 a .m., on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Mary Viola Mouton Thibodeaux, 66, who passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at her residence. Mary was a parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church, a member of Court 54 Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the St. Martinville High School Band Booster Club. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling, playing cards with her children, and caring for children of all ages. Mary will long be remembered for her warm smile, her true sense of compassion, and most of all, her early morning birthday wishes phone calls - she wanted to be the first one to sing her own rendition of 'Happy Birthday.' She will want her family to remember her fondest words of all 'Always keep your family first.' May she rest in peace and love for eternity. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Harold Thibodeaux of St. Martinville; two sons, Keith Thibodeaux of Leesville, and Morris Thibodeaux (Jackie) of Oklahoma; three daughters, Rebecca Mouton of St. Martinville, Ophelia Savoy of Dallas, TX, and Augustine Thibodeaux of Lafayette; her mother, Amelia Mouton of St. Martinville; three brothers, Morris Mouton (Ella) of Lafayette, John Trahan (Young) of Kempner, TX, and Francis Mouton (Lisa), of New Iberia; two sisters, Mildred Kately (Cassidy) and Janet Pierre (Lee Arthur), all of Loreauville; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Nathan Thibodeaux; a granddaughter, Keionna Mouton; her father, Morris Mouton; a brother, Freddie Mouton; a sister, Dorothy Bonhomme Charles; and her maternal grandmother, Priscilla Jean Batiste. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8 a .m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 9 a .m. Pallbearers will be Wilton Charles, Cambridge Guidry, Johnathan Mouton, Gerren Thibodeaux, Marlon Mouton, and Cassidy Kately.
