St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Mary Jane Thomas, 75, who passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at her residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:30 am until 1:30 pm on Saturday.
Rev. Thomas James will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Brittni Mouton, Cassandra Lewis, and Tracey Thomas. Gift bearers will be Logan and Landon Kately, and Tori Maziel. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Mary Jane was a very outgoing and outspoken person. She enjoyed going to the casino, traveling, playing cards, cooking, and shopping for clothes and jewelry. In her earlier years, she was awarded top seller for 30 plus years of selling Tupperware. Mary Jane loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren who she adored.
She is survived by her daughters, Jerrie Maziel and husband Rodney, and Jennifer Kately and husband Kevin, all of Parks; brothers, Gabriel Wiltz and wife Barbara, and Patrick Wiltz and wife Blanche, all of Houston, TX; sisters, Anna Mae Mouton and husband Hilman of New Iberia, Jackie Narcisse and husband Paul of St. Martinville, and Earline Lewis and husband Bradley, Sr. of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Brandon Thomas, who she raised, Logan Kately, Tori Maziel, and Landon Kately; and her great grandchildren, Kaisin Hack and Gabriel Charles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Thomas, Jr.; father, Martin Wiltz, Sr., mother, Anna Alexander Wiltz; brothers, Anthony Wiltz and Martin Wiltz, Jr.; and sister, Shirley Mouton.
Pallbearers will be Morris Thomas Jr., Karnell Thomas, Wendell Charles, Darrell Lewis Jr., Gabriel Wiltz Jr., and Logan Kately.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Thomas, Landon Kately, Kevin Kately, Rodney Maziel, Gabriel Wiltz, Sr., Patrick Wiltz, Morris Thomas, Sr., Bradley Lewis, Sr., Hillman Mouton, Clarence Porter, Martin Lee, Sr., Kenton Green, and Paul Narcisse.
