Mary was born February 19, 1925 in Baskin LA. She grew up in a time when life was simple and personal strength came from family and God. Mary raised four children and instilled into them those same values. Her family has remained close and has pulled strength from each other as they said goodbye to her as she went to meet her Lord. Mary could be a benchmark by which we are all judged, always giving and only taking if everyone else's needs had been met. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
She is survived by three daughters, Terry Houston of Rayne, Sharon Gelinas and husband Greg of Augusta, GA, Jill Beyt and husband Johnny of New Iberia, one son Zolly Tucker and wife Leah of Augusta, GA, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one very special sister Virginia Leah Smiley of Farmington Hills, Michigan and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa Belle Booker and Clifton Linwood Booker, brothers, John David Booker and Clifton Linwood Booker, sister, Frances June Osborn, one great grandchild, Thomas Houston and one great, great grandchild, Zayne Michael Trahan.
Pallbearers will be Josh Gelinas, Patrick Gelinas, "Tuck" Tucker, Craig Houston, William Wassell, Matthew Trahan and "Chip" Beyt.
A special thanks to all her friends from Highland Baptist Church, personal doctors and caregivers with a hats off to Dr. "Boots".
