Mary Ann Valsin

St. Martinville- Funeral services will be beld at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2006, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Mary Ann Gedward Valsin, 62, who died Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Survivors include her daughters, Carla Faye Valsin of Cade, Tammy Valsin Lindon, Shontell Valsin, and Francine Benjamin, all of St. Martinville; her brothers, Leroy Gedward of Lafayette and Arthur Gedward, Jr. of St. Martinville; her sisters, Orline Gedward of St. Martinville and Thelma Smith of Kansas City, MO; and eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Valsin; her daughter, Cassandra Valsin; her parents, Arthur Gedward, Sr. and Unita Mallery Gedward; her brothers, Lincoln Gedward, Sr. and Robert Gedward, Sr.; and her sister, Mary Ruby Kerlegan. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. ~ 10:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2006 and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
