Breaux Bridge mourns the loss of Matthew John Spiering, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, who worked very hard to provide a better life for his loved ones.
Throughout his many years on the road driving trucks, Matthew's heart was always back home with his family. His unwavering kindness and relentless work ethic endeared him to all who were fortunate enough to know him. But it wasn't just his strong work ethic that left an impression; it was his captivating dimples and resonant voice that truly made him unforgettable.
When not behind the wheel of a truck, Matthew found joy in cheering for his beloved Chicago Bears and doting on his faithful companion, Tobi. A true animal lover at heart, he shared a special bond with his furry friend that brought warmth and companionship to his days. Whether cruising on a motorcycle, exploring new destinations, tracking weather patterns on the screen, or creating culinary delights in the kitchen, Matthew pursued life with a fervor that inspired all those around him.
Matthew's memory will live on in the hearts of his surviving family members: may they find peace in knowing that his spirit soars free now, unburdened by earthly limitations. And as Breaux Bridge bids farewell to this remarkable soul, we are reminded that while individuals may depart from our lives, their legacy of love and hard work endures forevermore. " My Mind Still Talks To You And My Heart Still Looks For You But My Soul Knows You Are at Peace".
He is survived by his spouse, Mazel Spiering of 42 years; sons, Shawn Hayes (Shannon) and Keith Hayes (Jennifer): daughters, Kourtnie Hayes (Kristy) and Keasha Castille (Jody); grandchildren, Ryan Patterson, Evan Matthew Hayes, Emily Dixon, Landon Castille, Mallori Castille, Gage Lake, Jordan Lalonde, Kaitlyn Meche, and Trinton Jon Keith Hayes; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Meche and Ryan Meche; brother, Tim Spiering; sisters, Gail Collins (Craig) and Dawn Dunkman (Bill); and many nieces, nephew, great nieces, and great nephews.
