Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Matthew Francis Stelly, 31, who passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020, at his residence. Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Memorial Mass. Inurnment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2. Matthew was his family's angel on Earth. He touched many lives during his life, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his parents, Kelly Loughlin Stelly and Perry Stelly; brother, Jake Stelly; aunts, Cassie Veve and husband Steven, Trixie Scarbrough and husband Steve and Karla Schwartz and husband Steve, and Jane Loughlin; uncles, Stuart Stelly and wife Julie Amberg and Dale Stelly; and a host of cousins. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Edward Loughlin; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Loughlin; maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Loughlin; maternal great-grandparents, Catherine and Frank Desposito; paternal grandparents, Malcolm and Merella Stelly; paternal great-grandparents, Freddie and Noelie Duplechain; and paternal great-grandparents, Jean and Micheaud Stelly. The family wishes to thank and acknowledge Matthew's caregiver of 16 years, Brenda Smith, for her compassionate care.
