St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 24, 2006, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Maudrey Champagne Landry, 84, who died Friday, July 21, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Fr. Austin Leger, Pastor of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral service.
Mrs. Landry was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, a participant in Perpetual Adoration and a member of the Cypress Island Rosary Group.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd J. Landry of St. Martinville; her sons, Michael Landry and his wife, Claire of Cypress Island, Ronnie Landry of St. Martinville and Mark Landry and his wife, Penny of Loreauville; her daughters, Linda Viator of New Iberia, Peggy Meyers and her husband, Francis of Coteau, Annette Angelle and her husband, Randy of Breaux Bridge, Bonnie Boudreaux and her husband, Kelly of Catahoula, Cara Wolfe of New Iberia, Carla Verret of Catahoula, Brigitte McCain of Youngsville, and Donna Champagne of Abbeville; her brothers, Edward Champagne, Sr., Harold Champagne, Linden Champagne, Sr., Oleus Champagne, Jr., all of Cypress Island, and Harris "Mick" Champagne of Breaux Bridge; her sisters, Mazel Dwyer of Cypress Island, Emma Lou Serrette of Breaux Bridge and Elise Verret of Parks; seventeen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and her beloved pet dog, Oreo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oleus Champagne, Sr.; her brothers, Howard Champagne, Sr. and Earl Champagne; her sister, Verna Champagne Guidry; and her son-in-law, David Viator.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m. ~ 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2006 and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Monday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
Pallbearers will be Michael Landry, Ronnie Landry, Mark Landry, Kelly Boudreaux, Jr., Matthew Boudreaux, David Viator, Justin Angelle, Mark Landry, II, and Joseph Landry, II.
