Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Maureen McFerrin DeVillier, 70, who passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm on Thursday.
Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the Funeral Service. Readers will be Samuel Arnold and Elise DeVillier.
Mrs. DeVillier worked at the library for many years where she loved helping her patrons. During her free time, she enjoyed reading, doing scratch off tickets, and spending time with her cats, especially Oreo and Marley.
She is survived by her loving spouse, Edwin DeVillier of Breaux Bridge; sons, Mark DeVillier and wife Daphne of Carencro and Gregory DeVillier and wife Sara of Breaux Bridge; daughters, Tracie LaFleur and husband Russell of River Ridge and Kacey Arnold and husband Ryan of Mandeville; brothers, Marcus McFerrin and wife Lela of Pecos, NM and Christopher McFerrin and wife Becky of Gainesville, FL; sister, Cathy Gross and husband Jeff of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Jordan Guidry and spouse Blake, Samuel Arnold, Sydney Arnold, Elise DeVillier, Daisy DeVillier, Jameson DeVillier, and Bailey Grebinger; great grandchild, Carter Ray Guidry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeanine LeVasseur McFerrin and Gene McFerrin; grandchild, Morgan Kimble; brother, Michael McFerrin.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Russell LaFleur, Ryan Arnold, Donald LeVasseur, Hunter McFerrin, Coleman McFerrin, Matt Gross, Sam Arnold, Winston Vincent, Manfred Vincent, Merrill Champagne, Clayus Thibodeaux, and Barry Hughes.
The family wishes to give special thanks to LGMC nurses Sam, Syndey, Melanie and Corrine, whose care provided dignity, respect, and love in their mother’s final days.
