He dedicated his entire career to the oilfield industry and remained committed to his work until his retirement as Superintendent with Cleve Frederick and Son after four decades of service. Maurice's strong work ethic and unwavering commitment were truly admirable.

While Maurice's professional achievements were commendable, he also had a joyous personal life that brought him immense happiness. One of his greatest passions was baseball. Known for his profound love for the sport, Maurice proudly umpired numerous teams throughout the years, including little league and high school baseball. His in-depth knowledge and fair judgment were greatly valued by players and spectators alike. In fact, Maurice played an instrumental role as one of the founding members of the local Iberia Youth Baseball Association (IYBA), leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.

Aside from baseball, Maurice had varied interests that included classic cars. His eyes would light up at the sight of vintage automobiles; he appreciated their timeless charm and unique craftsmanship. Additionally, he found great pleasure in activities like bowling and camping. Alongside his late wife Gale, Maurice was an active member of a local camping club, where cherished memories were created beneath starlit skies.

Maurice will always be remembered for his gentle spirit and warm-hearted nature. He possessed an unwavering dedication to his family and friends, offering unwavering support and love to those around him. His jovial laughter contagious smile could brighten even the dullest of days. Maurice's presence will be deeply missed by all, as he leaves behind a void that cannot be filled.
