Maurice 'Chip' "'Chip'" Joseph Olivier, Jr.

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Maurice Chip Joseph Olivier, Jr., 58, who passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 9:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Friday. Father Joseph Campion will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Saint Martinville. Maurice was a member of the United States Coast Guard and the Rifle Association. He enjoyed swimming, working out, reading, playing golf, target shooting at the gun range, antique cars and was known to take care of his nutritional health. He is survived by his mother, Germaine Olivier of St. Martinville; son, Leon Joseph Olivier and wife Latavia of Lafayette and his mother, Marie Sampy, son, Dexter Ricardo Salters of Lafayette; daughter, Amanda Gabrielle Olivier of Clarkston, GA; brother, Donald Olivier and wife Mary of Houston, TX; sisters, Marcella Olivier of St. Martinville and Alesa Olivier-Davis of Breaux Bridge; niece, Gernae Marie Olivier; nephews, Michael Davis, Jr. and Caleb Mikal Davis; grandchildren, Leah Lasha Olivier and Leon Joseph Olivier, Jr.; Mother of Amanda, Georgia P. Olivier of Clarkston, GA. and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by father, Maurice Joseph Olivier, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Mary Rose Olivier and Charles Olivier; maternal grandparents, Edmonia Mercier Gerard and Paul Pratt; and the mother of Dexter, Jappari Salters.
