New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Our Lady of Perpetual Catholic Church in New Iberia for Mavis Perry Gaspard, 79, who died Monday, October 22, 2012 in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rev. William Gearhead will be the Celebrant. Erica Fremin and Kelly Champagne will proclaim the readings. Gift Bearers include Lori Boudreaux and Raegan Gaspard.
A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Wednesday. Visitation will continue Thursday from 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM.
A native of Vermilion Parish, Mrs. Gaspard was born on July 12, 1933 to Joseph and Ophelia Guidry Perry. She enjoyed cooking and 'going to the camp'.
She is survived by her husband, V.J. Gaspard of New Iberia; children, Debi Harry and Robert, Bridget Moity and husband Dwight, Randy Gaspard and companion Jill Suire, and Jason Gaspard and wife Denell all of New Iberia; brothers, John D. Perry of New Iberia, Huey Perry of Lafayette; sisters, Velta White of Abbeville, Hazel Perry of Lafayette, Audrey Fontenot of Maurice; 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Randy Gaspard, Jason Gaspard, Dustin Gaspard, Dwight Moity, Robert Harry, Jerad Moity, Derek Gaspard, and Megan Gaspard.
The family would like to give special thanks to Megan Gaspard, Toni Molaire, Journey Hospice, Iberia Rehabilitation, the staff and nurses at Iberia Medical Center, and the LTAC Unit at Iberia Medical Center.
