Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for May Broussard Blanchard , 88, who passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013, at Iberia Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Tuesday and continue at 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited ; at 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Rev. Donald Pousson will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reading the scriptures for the service will be Dalaney Dumatrait and Lacey Blanchard. Gift bearers will be Hali Dumatrait, Ava Champagne and Lucy Olivier. Music will be provided by Pat Menard and Beth Hebert. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. May enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved taking care of her plants and she also enjoyed baking. Her great grandchildren were 'the apples of her eyes'. She is survived by her son, George (Kathy) Blanchard; her brother, Louis Broussard; her grandchildren, Connie (Chad) Dumatrait, Pamela (Craig) Olivier, Summer (Chris) Champagne and Lacey Blanchard; her great grandchildren, Dalaney, Gabe and Hali Dumatrait, Vincent and Lucy Olivier, Ava, Cohen and Amberly Champagne. She is also survived by her nephew, Ray Broussard and her nieces, Sandra Boudreaux, Shirley Broussard, Louisette Broussard and Liz Broussard. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Blanchard; her parents, George Broussard and Nola Peltier Broussard; her son, Lynn Blanchard; her daughter, Mary Janelle Blanchard and her nephew, Ronald Broussard. Pallbearers will be George Blanchard, Chad Dumatrait, Craig Olivier, Chris Champagne, Preston Boudreaux and Blaise Dupuis. Honorary pallbearers will be Gabe Dumatrait, Vincent Olivier and Cohen Champagne. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge , 211 Berard St., Breaux Bridge, is in charge of arrangements.
