Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for May Gondron Dor?, 86, who died Sunday, March 16, 2008 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Rev. Fr. Louis Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of St. Bernard Church, will officiate at the funeral Mass. ?Readers will be Maureen Bearb, Cresta Bearb Thibodeaux, and Earline Sonnier. ?Gift bearers will be Ava Dor?, Ashley Dor?, and Danielle Gary.
Mrs. Dor? was a hairdresser, seamstress and quilter for many years; in fact quilting was her enjoyment and her passion. ?She taught many of her friends how to quilt and sew. ?She was a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where she taught religion for many years, and was a member of the St. Bernard Altar Society, Rosary Group, Catholic Daughters of America, and the St. Martin Home Demonstration Club. May was devout to her faith and honored the Blessed Virgin Mary by daily prayers and devotions, bringing many petitions of those who needed a source of healing - her prayers demonstrated how she loved caring for people. ?She enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends, and she was very proud of her 8 children, whom she loved and adored.
Survivors include one son, Ted E. Dor? and his wife, Lori, of Kuwait; seven daughters, Maureen ""Mo"" Bearb and her husband, Wayne, Florence D. Comb, Millie D. Picard and her husband, Larry, all of Breaux Bridge, Gina D. Dupuis and her husband, Ames Pete, Jr., of Loreauville, Velma D. Huval and her husband, Tommy, Vida D. Gary and her husband, Ted, and Iris D. Dor? and her husband, Randy, all of Breaux Bridge; one sister, Odette Blanchard and her husband, Lee, of Lafayette; a sister-in-law, Doreen Gondron, of Bridge City, TX; 20 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas E. and Alzire Broussard Gondron; three brothers, Sidney Gondron, Emile Gondron, Jr., and Bertin Gondron; one sister, Cecile Dionne; and her former husband, Dudley J. Dor?.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Monday and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening..
Pallbearers will be Brandon Picard, Casey Comb, Ames Trey Dupuis, III, Patrick Huval, Robert Picard, Griffin Huval, and Camille Sebastien.
