Mazel Champagne Fremin

Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau for Mazel C. Fremin, 69, who passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017. A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM Friday, with Recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Rev. Brian Harrington will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia. Mazel Marie Champagne Fremin was born in St. Martinville, LA on July 15, 1948 to the late Palmire Hebert Champagne and Preston Champagne, Sr. She enjoyed cookouts and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed. Mrs. Fremin is survived by daughters, Tammy Labit and husband Warren of Loreauville, and Rachel Freeman and companion, Damien Hypolite of New Iberia; son, Cory Fremin and wife Angela of New Iberia; sisters, Madeline Gauthier and husband Lance of St. Martinville and Loreane Labbe and husband Marshall of Lafayette; brothers, Preston Champagne, Jr. and wife Karen of St. Martinville, Roy Champagne and wife Gayle of Charenton, Allen Champagne and wife Jackie of Broussard, and Raymond Champagne and wife Donna of Charenton; grandchildren, Cody Labit and spouse Kayla, Ashley Labit, Trent Fremin, Raven Fremin, and Alexi Freeman; and a great-grandchild, Tanner Romero. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lynwood J. Fremin. Pallbearers will be Cory Fremin, Cody Labit, Trent Fremin, Warren Labit, Carroll Guilbeaux, and Travis LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers, Preston, Jr. Roy, Allen, and Raymond Champagne.
