Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau for Mazie Fremin Myers, 90, who died Thursday, February 14, 2013, in Lafayette.
Entombment will follow in the Church Mausoleum.
Rev. Barry Crochet will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM.
Born on October 6, 1922, Mrs. Myers is the daughter of Alladin and Electa Girouard Fremin. A native and lifelong resident of Coteau, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved caring for her family.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Curtis J. Myers of Coteau; daughters, Diane Myers LeBlanc and husband Kernny of Coteau, Phyllis Myers Mouton of Cankton; sons, Kurt Myers and wife Anna of Jeanerette, Ricky Myers of Coteau, Troy Myers of Coteau; brother, Leo Fremin and wife Flo of New Iberia; sisters, Rowena F. Comeaux of Coteau, Verna F. Morvant of Lafayette; 15 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Curley Fremin, Nolan Freman; and a sister, Leona F. Moore.
Pallbearers will be Shane Mouton, Bryan Longman, James Myers, Ben Myers, Robert Myers, Joey Myers, and John Mouton.
