Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM, on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home for McKenna Drew Poirier, 7, who passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Our Lady of Lourdes Emergency Center in Scott.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Thursday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the funeral service.

Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.

McKenna Drew Poirier was born on December 21, 2015, in Lafayette. She had an infectious smile that could light up a room. She cared and loved everyone around her. McKenna loved to play dress-up, play with make-up, make jewelry and anything glitter, rainbows, and unicorns. Her memory will always be cherished by everyone who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her mother, Charlsey Briggs (Daniel); father, Jason Poirier (Kayla Champagne); half-sister, Kinley Poirier; step-sister, Laila Long; paternal grandparents, Randy "Tu Blanc" and Shelly Poirier; paternal great grandmothers, Velma H. Poirier and Dorothy Leger; great aunts, Annette Romero, Lisa Romero, and Claire Romero; godmother, Paige Benjamin; and a host of cousins.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Willa "Coochie" Romero Briggs; maternal grandfather, James Briggs; paternal great grandfathers, Wilfred Poirier and Ewell Leger; great uncles, Billy, Paul "Tickey", and Doug Romero; and step grandmother, Cynthia Frisby.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Harper, Taylor Boudreaux, Travis Simon, Colby Romero, and William Romero.
