A spunky 9lb 15oz daughter was born February 15, 2000, to Maria B. Scully and Howard J. Scully. She completed our family. Meaghan has two amazing brothers, Nickolaus R. Scully and Noah R. Scully; sister-in-law, Ali Landry Scully; soon to be sister-in-law, Olivia Dubois; and a new very special niece, Parker Kate Scully. She also has a special sisterly bond with Taylor B. Pitre; and a second mom, Casey C. Maturin, whom she thinks the word of. Payton Bienvenu is more like a little sister than a cousin. She has five amazing uncles, Jared Bienvenu, Joel Bienvenu, Neil Bienvenu, Lennis Scully Jr. and Bryan Scully; three special aunts, Lauren C. Bienvenu, Kimberly P. Bienvenu, and Lisa Scully. She can’t forget her cousins, Kelsey B. Fuselier (Thea & Jackson), Andre Landry (Blakely), Ricky Armand (Cason), Bryan Scully Jr., and Logan Scully; her loving and supportive grandparents, Ray and Elaine Bienvenu; and her godparents, Leon Gros and Tracey Crappell.
Meaghan married her soulmate, Chase J. Langlois, on July 16, 2022, and they had 23 months to live life to its fullest. She adored him and lived to be the best wife, dog mom, sister, daughter, granddaughter, and aunt she could be. She became the best version of herself when Chase came into her life. They completed each other and she knew how blessed she was to have met her soulmate.
She also leaves behind her amazing in-laws, Tarra and Brennon Bourque; grandmother-in-law, Jane Leblanc; brother-in-law, Dustin Leblanc (Amanda); sisters-in-laws, Lacey Bernath (Ryan), and Charley Carpenter (Aaron); and can’t forget these sweet nieces and nephews, Palmer Carpenter, Ella Lenko, Greyson Leblanc, and Ailvlyn Pourciau; lastly her precious fur babies: Kai, Dexter & Abraham Leroy Langlois.
If you were honored to meet Meaghan, you may not have always liked or agreed with her, but you respected her because she was a true friend and always told you what you needed to hear, not necessarily what you wanted to hear. Meaghan always had your back and never turned on family and friends. We learned a lot from Meaghan the short 24 years she spent on earth. Her physical presence has left us, but Meaghan’s free spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
Meaghan was preceded in death by their sweet angel baby; her paternal grandparents, Lennis and Mary Ann Scully Sr.; uncle, Chris Scully; and cousin, Shane Scully.
February 15, 2000, started an amazing journey, which ended June 4, 2024. Meaghan’s journey has been re-routed to Heaven and ours continues here keeping her larger-than-life spirit alive.
Pallbearers will be Nick Scully, Noah Scully, Andre Landry, Ryan Bernath, Aaron Charpenter, and Dustin LeBlanc. We want to thank Dr. David Landy and Sarah Meche for helping her realize the amazing person she was. Her doctors at Ochsner’s for giving us the additional six years (which will never be enough) from when she had her heart transplant. Anyone who knows Meaghan knows how much better their life is with her in it. We will continue to live life as she did. Live and love hard and live with no regrets. Rest in Paradise until we meet again.
