Melanie Theresa Tripeaux

Loreauville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, for Melanie Theresa Tripeaux, 61, who passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Loreauville. 

Rev. Godwin Nzeh will be the Celebrant. 

Visitation will be Saturday, from 8:00 am until 10:00 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia.

Melanie Theresa Tripeaux was born on October 2, 1962, to the late Jules Victor Tripeaux and Mary Deolia Tripeaux. A native of Loreauville, she resided in Houston, Texas with her daughter and grandchildren. 

Melanie was a faithful member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.  She had a heart of gold and was always smiling. She was best known for her hugs and kisses, which she gave to everyone. She had such a big heart and was always the life of parties, especially back in her day. 

Mel enjoyed spending time with her kids, daughter-in-law and grandkids, as well as her family and friends. She enjoyed family functions and playing cards; she was always the first to say, “get the deck” or “first to ride.” 

Melanie leaves in God’s care her two children, Ryant (Marie) of Destin, FL and Reegan of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Rymar, Brilun, Ramyan, Keelan and Toreah; six siblings, Edward Jules and Jude Tripeaux of New Iberia, LA, Marie (Jay) of Lake Charles, LA, Mary (Glenn) of St. Martinville, LA, Stephanie, and Terrell of New Iberia, LA; two godchildren, Casey Green and Ronica Tripeaux; two friends reared as siblings, Cynthia Zacharie and Lucille Mitchell; and a host of relatives and friends.
