Melba Frederick Begnaud

St. Martinville - A Memorial Service will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in St. Martinville, for Melba Frederick Begnaud, 82, who passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, in Lafayette. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 17th, beginning at 10:30 am and will continue until 9 pm. Melba enjoyed Bible study, Christian learning, and spreading her knowledge with others. She enjoyed collecting rocks, reading, doing puzzles, and spending time with family, especially playing with her grandchildren. She taught for many years in St. Martinville as a middle school and special education teacher. She is survived by son, Jerry Begnaud and wife Debbie of Scott; daughters, Anna Bessmertny and husband Michel of Broussard, Georgia Begnaud of MI, and Carol Sobek and husband David of Lafayette; five grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by parents, Lucien and Leah Dore Frederick; her husband, Nelson Begnaud; a son, William F. Begnaud; and her brother, Dominic Frederick.
