Melvin Bounds

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 12, 2005, at Teche Baptist Church in Breaux Bridge for Melvin Leroy Bounds, 70, who died on Friday, December 8, 2006 at his residence. A committal with full military service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Port Hudson National Cemetery in Zachary, LA. Mr. Bounds proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. On February 9, 2007, he and his wife, "Joy," would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Survivors include his wife, Juanita "Joy" Winn Bounds of Breaux Bridge; three sons, Danny Bounds and his wife, Maureen of Las Vegas, Nevada, Stephen Bounds and his wife, Rhonda of Breaux Bridge, and Mark Bounds of Winter Harbor, Maine; three brothers, Earl H. Bounds and his wife, Lois of Springdale, Arkansas, Merle E. Bounds and his wife, Nancy of Williamsburg, Virginia, and Gary L. Bounds of Lawton, Oklahoma; two sisters, Gladys Presnell and her husband, Bill, and Grace Brent, all of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer C. and Pearl Timbers Bounds; and one brother, Ernest Bounds. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Teche Baptist Church in Breaux Bridge from 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Sunday; and from 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Monday; and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday until time of service.
