Melvin Pierre Bouton

New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm, on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Melvin Pierre Bouton, 82, who passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Dauterive Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Monday, and continue on Tuesday at 7:00 am until 2:15 pm. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm on Monday. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia. Mr. Bouton honorably served his country in the United States Army. He worked as an inspector and supervisor in the oil industry for many years. As a pastime, he enjoyed fishing and gardening, and he also loved to go dancing and going to the casino and horse races with his family. He especially treasured the many occasions he could spend with his family. He is survived by three sons, Bobby Bouton, Kevin Bouton and wife, Terri, and Billy Bouton, all of New Iberia; four daughters, Angela Borel and husband, Mike, Donna Bouton and fianc, Hank Waldmann, Patricia Barras and husband, Kurt, all of New Iberia, and Tina Bouton and companion, Jeffery Chaisson, of Lafitte; one sister, Gale Cain of New Iberia; his special sister-in-law, Beverly Bouton of Baldwin; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joy Rita Poirrier Bouton; his parents, Lewis and Electa Legnon Bouton; two brothers, Peter and Calvin Bouton; and three sisters, Doris Boudreaux, Lois Lopez, and Leatrice Landry. Pallbearers will be Patricia Barras, Kevin Bouton, Tina Bouton, Angela Borel, Bobby Bouton, Billy Bouton, Donna Bouton, and Kurt Barras.
