Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 14, 2020, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Melvin J. Hebert, 69, who passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at his residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm on Sunday and continue on Monday at 8:00 am until 12:30 pm.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Sunday by Barbara Hebert.
Rev. Travis Abadie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Mausoleum in Arnaudville.
Melvin enjoyed spending time outdoors - hunting, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed woodworking and antiques. Melvin cherished his family and loved spending time with them. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Annette T. Hebert; three sons, Kevin Hebert, Benji Hebert and Brandon (Alyx) Hebert; grandchildren, Payge Hebert, Mason Hebert, Jade Hebert, Cale Hebert and Estelle Hebert; sisters, Annie Meche and Jane Bernard; and brother, Herbert (Barbara) Hebert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clopha Hebert and Angella Begnaud Hebert; and his brother, Alvin Hebert.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Meche, Neil Hebert, Joey Hebert, Chase Meche, Francis Latiolais and Kenneth Meche.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Begnaud and Herbert Hebert.
