New Iberia - A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, December 28, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Melvola "Dolly" Gardner Harrison, 91, who passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at her home, surrounded by loved ones.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm.
Melvola "Dolly" Gardner Harrison was born in Petit Anse, Louisiana on May 3, 1927. She was one of 15 children born to the late Junius Gardner, Sr. and Birdie Davis Gardner. She was very vibrant, outgoing and loving. A social butterfly, she loved to dance and play cards, and she was a fabulous cook. Dolly was admired by many, and loved by all. She will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Susan Batiste; grandchildren, Pamela Rochon, Cleveland Green, III, and Janelle Angelle; sisters, Leanna Gardner Sayrie and Verna Mae Gardner; several step children; several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Preston Joseph Harrison; a daughter, Dorothy Mae Gibson Green; grandchildren, Tammy Green Washington and Kevin Green; several step children; and several siblings.
